
Rev. Vernon H. Peters
The Reverend Vernon H. Peters was appointed the pastor of Allen Memorial A.M.E. Church, Brooklyn, New York, April, 27, 2014. He graduated from Lehman College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and Management. After graduation he was employed as a Nurse Manager in the Department of Nursing at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York where he worked for 24 years. Pastor Peters was ordained as an Itinerant Deacon and Itinerant Elder. He graduated from Drew University, and earned the Master of Divinity Degree, with honors, concentrating in Biblical Studies. He has served as pastor of St. Mark East Orange, Heard (Roselle) New Jersey, Union A.M.E. Church, in Warwick New York, where the congregation of 53 members moved the 100 hundred year old historic edifice and turned it into an African American Museum and completed the construction of a

new edifice and a two bedroom parsonage that cost about $1 million dollars.
In the community Pastor Peters served as Board of Director for the Warrick Valley Chambers of
Commerce and Board of Director for the Warrick Chambers of Library, a member of the Pastors on the
Ecumenical Council, NAACP, Pastors Caucus, and numerous other civic and community organizations
Rev Peters is also a Co-Founder with Rev. Gwendolyn Hudson of the Covenant A.M.E. Church in Tobyhanna, PA.As a spiritual leader, pastor, teacher and administrator he is known for his humbleness and
exceptional gift of bringing congregants together in unity throughout his ministry in working for the
Glory of God.
Pastor Peters is married to Chery Patricia Browne-Peters. They are the proud parents of Brittni Alicia.
Knowing that he can do “all things through Christ who strengthens him”, Pastor Peters has a passion to
serve and a vision instilled by God, which will be fulfilled during his tenor as Pastor.
